Voor muziekliefhebbers, buurtbewoners en tuinrecreanten presenteert Tolhuistuin van mei tot en met augustus, iedere zondag Sunday Sounds. Een ontspannen middag met livemuziek onder de oude plataan in de idyllische tuin. De toegang is gratis en ook dit jaar vult Excelsior Recordings het programma met hun fijnste artiesten. Aanvullend zijn er zondagmiddagprogramma’s i.s.m. muziekfestival Into The Great Wide Open en EurosonicNoorderslag. Het hele programma is hier te vinden.
Sunday Sounds is geschikt voor iedereen: of je nu houdt van muziek, wilt genieten van de mooie Tuin of het leuk vindt om nieuwe mensen te ontmoeten. De Tuin is elke zondag open tussen 12-17 uur. Het muziekprogramma start rond 15 uur. Ook voor kinderen is er ook genoeg te doen. Zo kan je de Speurtocht van Stout Konijn doen, een reuzenjenga bouwen, een potje Kubb spelen, een potje jeu de boulen of met een boekje chillen in het gras.

Zelf debuteerde hij in de UK met zijn band Dandelion Adventure in John Peels legendarische radioshow. Later was hij actief in onder andere King Champion Sounds Deutsche Ashram en Donkey. Via Nederlandse anarcho-punkband The Ex kwam hij in Nederland, waar hij later productioneel manager in Paradiso zou worden.Onder de naam BHAJAN BHOY maakt hij psychedelische, bijna meditatieve muziek. Zijn eerste soloplaat ooit – ‘Bless Bless’ – kwam voort uit een maandenlange (vrijwillige) opsluiting in zijn studio, waarin hij soundscapes creëerde door onder andere kosmisch gitaar- en citarspel laag na laag toe te voegen. Saggar blijft een leven lang experimenteren en ontdekken.
Daarnaast kunnen mensen ook radiatorfolie knippen.

For music lovers, local residents and gardeners, Tolhuistuin presents Sunday Sounds every Sunday from May through August. A relaxing afternoon with live music under the old plane tree in the idyllic garden. Admission is free and also this year Excelsior Recordings fills the program with their finest artists. Sunday Sounds is suitable for everyone: whether you like music, want to enjoy the beautiful Garden or like to meet new people. The Garden is open every Sunday between 12-17 hours. The music program starts around 15:00. For children there is also plenty to do. For example, you can do the Stout Rabbit Scavenger Hunt, build a giant jenga, play a game of Kubb, a game of bocce or chill in the grass with a book.

Ajay Saggar was born to an Indian family in Kenya and moved to Britain in the 1970s, during the rise of punk bands like The Sex Pistols and The Clash. He himself debuted in the UK with his band Dandelion Adventure on John Peel’s legendary radio show. Later he was active in King Champion Sounds Deutsche Ashram and Donkey, among others. Through Dutch anarcho-punk band The Ex he came to the Netherlands, where he would later become production manager at Paradiso.
Under the name BHAJAN BHOY he makes psychedelic, almost meditative music. His first ever solo record – ‘Bless Bless’ – came out of a months-long (voluntary) confinement in his studio, during which he created soundscapes by adding layer after layer of cosmic guitar and citar playing, among other things. Saggar continues a lifetime of experimentation and discovery.
